Listened To 100.7 – “American Band” “Free Bird” (the extra long version - it was playing when I turned the car on after work and still wasn't over by the time I got home - :D)

Ate Cut fruit, granola bar, turkey sub, banana, water, apricot fruit leather, steak tacos, cherry limeade, fudge popsicle

Wore Current favorite work outfit – blue flowered shirt, grey slacks

Watched Disc 2 of The Vampire Diaries with Eric

Monday, Monday

Well, this week isn't off to a great start.

Yesterday, we got the bad news that my niece isn't coming to visit this week, after all. I'm so disappointed and not a little angry. But I'm trying to let that go, because I don't need the stress.

This morning I had what I though was heartburn on the way into work, but it quickly developed into a full-fledged 'esophageal spasm' and I ended up at urgent care which is who diagnosed it. I suspect I had a bit of a panic attack too, because all I could think about was everything I've heard about heart attacks in women. It's supposed to be the same feeling. But, that wasn't it, and I'm all better now. It was pretty much all over by the time the doctor saw me. And I have wonderful co-workers, who helped me out tremendously. So that feels good. (Know what else feels good? They weighed me today and my weight was less than I expected - a nice surprise.)

I really hope the rest of the week is super boring. I could use some quiet routine days.

Monday, Monday

It's Monday morning again, and once again my weekend wasn't as successful as I'd planned. But at least it was more so than last weekend.

We saw Green Lantern on Friday night, which I really enjoyed. The critics hated it, and it didn't do very well at the box office, so I'm not sure the chances we'll get a sequel are very good. But I remain hopeful, because there is so much potential now that the origin story has been told.

And we celebrated Father's Day on Sunday with Dad, which was fun. We had HyVee chicken for lunch and homemade lemon cake with fresh fruit for dessert. Yum! That lemon cake recipe has gotten a real workout lately. It's definitely a keeper.

In the next couple weeks we need to really buckle down and get the apartment ready for Trent's visit. I started over the weekend, but didn't get far. It's easy to get overwhelmed with all the things I want to do, so the trick is to pick one thing and get that done; then move onto the next thing. But it's hard to do when all the other tasks are staring you in the face in the meantime.

The fun chore for getting prepped for Trent's visit is packing him a travel kit for the long car rides - a puzzle book, kids magazine, some comic books and a cool pen will do the trick I think. And maybe a clip-on fan since it's usually pretty hot during the trip.
